Draft Housing , Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2021-2026

Decision Maker: Cabinet

Decision status: Decision Made

Is Key decision?: Yes

Is subject to call in?: Yes

Purpose:

To request agreement for consultation to take place on the draft Housing, Homelessness and Rough Sleeping Strategy 2021-2026 as the present Housing and Homelessness Strategy ends in 2021.  The new Strategy will set out how we will respond to housing challenges and will incorporate our approach to tackling the issue of rough sleeping.

Once consultation has taken place, the Strategy will be reported to Cabinet later in 2021, for approval and adoption.

Decision:

RESOLVED – That a six-week period of consultation be arranged for the draft Strategy be approved and the results reported to Cabinet on 17 March 2022 for adoption.

REASON FOR DECISION: The consultation would ensure compliance with the requirements of the Homelessness Act 2002 and the Government’s Rough Sleeping Strategy by engaging with partners to help inform the final version of the Strategy.
