Decision Maker: Cabinet Member for Housing and Planning
Decision status: Decision Made
Is Key decision?: No
Is subject to call in?: Yes
The production of a neighbourhood development plan is the means by which a local community can take responsibility for land use planning in their area, potentially covering matters such as the location of houses, shops and community facilities, the setting of design standards for new development, or the identification and conservation of local heritage assets and green spaces.
RESOLVED – That the table of comments presented in Appendix A be submitted on or before 14 November 2022 as the Borough Council’s representation to the Regulation 16 consultation on the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Neighbourhood Development Plan be approved.
To endorse the proposed representations to the Regulation 16 consultation would enable the Borough Council to continue to provide advice and guidance to the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Neighbourhood Plan Group.
Do nothing – This would mean the Council would not be involved in continuing to provide the advice and guidance that has been available for the neighbourhood plan group during the preparation of the Cranbrook and Sissinghurst Neighbourhood Plan.
Submit Alternative Representations – The current representations submitted in Appendix A reflect advice and comments from a range of TWBC professional officers in the planning department. To provide alternative representations would require additional liaison and discussion with these officers.
No conflicts of interest were declared by any Member who was consulted in respect of this decision.
