Aims and Objectives of the Organisation:

To hire scooters and manual wheelchairs and in doing so provide relief to people with disabilities and those with limited mobility. To enable these groups to have access to shops and other services/facilities in the Royal Tunbridge Wells Borough.

Role and responsibility of the Council representative

eg. Observer, Trustee, Board Member, Observer

Trustee/Observer - speaking and voting rights.

What does the Organisation hope to achieve through the relationship?

To lead and direct the charity.

How often are the meetings held, venue and time?

Meetings are alternative months commencing at 6.30pm, plus an AGM.  Held at the Town Hall (Member to attend a minimum of four meetings per year)

What skills/experience/interests would be desirable from the Council’s representative?

Understanding of disability and support of the disabled.

What arrangements are in place to indemnify board members against the risk of personal liability?

Board members are covered by insurance.

Any other information the Organisation wishes to add

 

 

 

Enabling people to take part in and enjoy leisure activities; transport-getting around the Borough; promoting health and improving well-being; and encouraging social inclusion by supporting independence.

 

We are open Monday to Saturday  from 9am until 5pm and our customers are very grateful for the independence they obtain when using our scooters, some having been housebound for many years.
