Amelia Scott Budget and Update

Notice is hereby given that the Cabinet of Tunbridge Wells Borough Council intends to make a Key Decision in respect of the following matter which may be made in private with less than the 28 days’ notice required by Regulations 5 and 9 of the  Local Authorities (Executive Arrangements) (Meetings and Access to Information) (England) Regulations 2012.  Compliance is impracticable for the reasons as set out in the associated notice.

 

Furthermore, notice is hereby given that the Chairman of the Overview and Scrutiny Committee has agreed that the making of the decision is urgent and cannot reasonably be deferred.

 

The report provides an update on progress on the final stages of fit out and sets out the current issues impacting upon the programme and the likely cost due to in programme delay up to planned opening.

Reason for urgency:
Given the time constraints related to completing the final works to meet the proposed opening date, delay to works and thus the opening date would have significant costs on the Council related to proposed services being required to locate elsewhere at short notice. The associated costs which lie with the Council are significantly greater than finalising the project.
